About Us...

CATFLAP  is a small Glasgow based charity dedicated to cat welfare and is run by 5 voluntary Trustees. The charity was started in 1997 with the following aims

· To find suitable permanent homes for homeless cats
· To re-unite lost cats with their owners
· To provide short-term emergency accommodation for cats in need
· To assist with veterinary expenses in cases of genuine hardship

To help achieve these aims the Charity has a small network of foster homes around Glasgow and rents a number of pens at a cattery in Newton Mearns, supported by our fundraising events and by donations.

Up till December 2008, CATFLAP  has homed 3,139 cats and kittens.

All of our fosterers are volunteers who use either a spare room in their home or a cat pen in their garden to accommodate the cats. They all provide care for the cats and take them to the vet when required . The fosterers are invaluable and we would not be able to carry out our work without them.
